Belfast, Northern Ireland (28 November - 11 December 2021)
Number of participants: 15 students + 1 teacher
Date: 28.11. - 11.12.2021
From 28.11. to 11.12. 2021, within the Erasmus Mobility+ programme, our 15 students took part in a work placement with employers in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Our third and fourth year students had a unique opportunity to put their existing knowledge and skills into practice in an English-speaking environment.
Before departure, students completed an online job interview with a representative from Interneurope, Ireland's partner placement agency, who helped them choose an employer based on their preferences. The great benefit for the students is not only the work experience itself, but also - thanks to the homestay accommodation - the opportunity to improve their English and experience the everyday life of an Irish family.
The working week was devoted to practice and the free days were marked by trips. For example, at the weekend we visited one of the most beautiful natural monuments in Ireland, Giant's Causeway, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here we also visited the Titanic Museum, which was built in the Belfast shipyards over a hundred years ago.
This whole work experience has another advantage. The work placement will be confirmed in the Europass of each student, who can then add it to their professional CV. Thanks to the fact that the management of the school was able to obtain funding for this internship through the Erasmus Mobility+ programme, the students have their entire stay paid for, including their pocket money.
