However, the race also gave rise to a somewhat unusual situation. Due to a system error, our team was mistakenly awarded points for the second relay as well. In the provisional results, our lads were therefore declared to be in 2nd place and received their silver medals. The error was subsequently discovered and, whilst we were on our way home, the results were corrected and the silver medals were withdrawn. The final and correct placing was therefore third place.

Jan Kubák (3.ER) – 3rd place in the 100 metres, 2nd place in the long jump
Lukáš Malinský (4.EE) – 4th place in the long jump, 3rd place in the shot put
Josef Sochna (3.EE) – 4th place in the 400 metres, 8th place in the high jump
Martin Rek (3.EE) – 9th place in the high jump
Karel Toman (3.EE) – 7th place in the 100 m
Matěj Franěk (3.EE) – 5th place in the shot put
Šimon Brůžek (2.EE) – 6th place in the 1500 m
Lukáš Rys (2.EE) – 9th place in the 1,500 metres
Matěj Kubát (Year 3S) – 15th place in the 100 m
Filip Koutenský (3.EE) – 12th place in the 1,500 metres, 17th place in the 400 metres
Otakar Müller (4.EE) – 17th place in the 400 metres
Relays:
Relay Team A, comprising Jan Kubák (3rd ER), Lukáš Malinský (4th EE), Karel Toman (3rd EE) and Josef Sochna (3rd EE), came third.
Relay Team B, comprising Matěj Franěk (3.EE), Martin Rek (3.EE), Otakar Müller (4.EE) and Matěj Kubát (3.S), finished in 5th place.

Given that a third of the team couldn’t take part in the district round and we had to reshuffle the team a bit, they still put in some brilliant performances of which they can be proud. A big thank you also goes to all the teachers and the school management, who made it possible for us to take part and represent our school. Special thanks go to Mr Bican, who supported us throughout both rounds,” said Karolína Kovářová, who was responsible for coordinating and organising both events on behalf of the school.
