EuropaSecura competition - three students of the SE Secondary School of Science and Technology advanced to the written part of the regional round

From 10 to 13 March 2024, the first round of the EuropaSecura 2024 competition took place, which also involved students from our school, i.e. a 3-member team consisting of Lucie Beránková (3.EA), Martin Felenda (3.EA) and Jaroslav Kolouch (3.EB).

The EuropaSecura competition is organised by the EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence, the Czech Army and other institutions. Thousands of high school students from all over the Czech Republic participate every year. The basic round consisted of completing an online knowledge test. The questions were thematically related to the security situation in the world, global conflicts, cyber security, the role of the EU and NATO in conflict resolution, the Czech Republic and its membership in the EU and NATO, basic information about the EU and the North Atlantic Alliance, as well as ways of ensuring the security of the Czech Republic and Europe. Text work and geographical orientation were important.

Our three students received a total of 116.5 points, and thus advanced to the written part of the regional round, in which they are expected to create a security analysis on the topic of the People's Republic of China. If they are subsequently selected by the expert jury, they will advance to the oral part of the regional round.

Congratulations to the advancing trio and we wish them much success in the next step of the competition!
