The activities of the school prevention methodologist are part of the activities of the school counselling centre. The SPM cooperates with other counsellors at the school (i.e. the educational counsellor and the educational counsellor for year 4), and is part of the educational committee meetings and other meetings with parents when necessary.
The school prevention methodologist, among other things, co-develops the minimum prevention programme and participates in its implementation. The primary prevention area includes, for example: addictive substances, eating disorders, alcohol, school bullying and cyberbullying, homophobia, vandalism, truancy, netolism (addiction to virtual drugs - on the Internet, social networks, etc.), self-harm, risky sexual behaviour, gambling, etc.
The SPM communicates with teachers in the area of primary prevention, and in the event of a problem, provides suggestions for possible remediation. It cooperates with institutions and organisations in the field of primary prevention. Coordinates the transfer of information on the problem of risky behaviour in school, documents the progress of the school's prevention work. Evaluates the implementation of the minimum prevention programme.
In addition to activities within the framework of primary prevention of socially pathological phenomena, it is also involved in the prevention of school failure and in the care of pupils with educational or learning difficulties. It participates in building a favourable social climate at school, and also pays attention to the care of pupils with special educational needs, pupils from different cultural backgrounds and social backgrounds, etc.
