Encounters with Energy is an interactive educational project of the CEZ Group designed for primary and secondary school students. It brings energy experts into classrooms to introduce students to the main topics of the current and future energy sector. The program includes a Virtual Reality ReakTour, in which students use special VR goggles to look into the most interesting and normally inaccessible places of the Temelín and Dukovany nuclear power plants - for example, the reactor hall, cooling tower, or the control room. In addition, physics experiments and demonstrations are carried out during the event to accompany expert explanations and help students better understand the principles of power generation. Students were able to actively participate during the programme, which lasted 90 minutes.
The programme is part of the World of Energy educational project, which aims to increase energy literacy and encourage young people in technical fields.
Students appreciated the opportunity to see modern technology up close, to ask what they are really interested in, and to understand the context that goes beyond the usual physics or electrical engineering lessons. Most participants rated the programme as very useful and inspiring.
