On March 9, 2022, a collection of food and hygiene products for the newcomers from Ukraine took place at the Secondary School SE as part of the Dukla Helps project. Students and staff of the school were able to bring food and hygiene products, which were handed over the following day in the Material Needs Warehouse of the City of ČB.

The material supplies warehouse in the area of the former Žižka barracks was established by the town for the purpose of dispensing and initially supplying newly arrived people from Ukraine. The accumulated material is continuously transported from the warehouse to the airport in Plana u Č. Budějovice, where the Regional Assistance Centre for Ukraine (KACPU) is in operation.

The material brought to the school took into account the current needs of KACPU, i.e. baby snacks in pouches, diapers, wet wipes, toilet paper, tissues, personal, feminine and dental hygiene products, bandages, plasters, as well as new toys for children. Class 3.SA then took the collected supplies to their destination.

The school staff then jointly purchased other necessary food and hygiene products. There were also diapers for older children, which are currently in short supply in the Material Supplies Warehouse, as well as "something good to eat" for the little ones and other currently needed materials, especially for mothers with children.

Many thanks to everyone who took part in the collection.

Apart from its own humanitarian significance, the whole affair had another aspect - it was not at all detached from ordinary school life, as the topic of Ukraine and Ukrainian refugees is currently included in history and science lessons according to the needs and interest of pupils, and this collection has gained another dimension.
