The idea of renovating the existing sports hall first arose around two years ago. At the start of the 2025/2026 school year, concrete preparations for the project were successfully launched. In March 2026, a tender was launched to select a contractor for the works, and negotiations with the winning firm, as well as preparations for the actual implementation, began as early as April.
Following several days of inspections and joint meetings involving all stakeholders, the final design of the project was finalised. By the end of the 2025/2026 school year, the premises had been cleared and prepared for handover to the contractor. The renovation work itself took place during the summer holidays, followed by the handover of the completed project.
During the preparatory week for the 2026/2027 school year, the necessary inspections of the sports facilities were carried out and the exercise equipment was reinstalled. Thanks to the cooperation of all those involved, all the refurbished facilities will be fully operational for physical education lessons from 1 September 2026.
We believe that the pupils will enjoy taking part in sports in the refurbished facilities and that these will motivate them to take pleasure in physical activity and sporting achievements. It is the wish of the entire Physical Education Department that the newly refurbished facilities will serve the school well for many years to come.
