Presentation of the Technical Primary School project at the Technical Czech Republic conference

On 14 May 2026, we had the opportunity to present the Technical Primary School project at the national conference Technical Czechia: How to Build Technical Education for the 21st Century, which took place at the PressCentre of the Czech Technical Committee in Prague. The event focused on the future of technical education, motivating the young generation towards technical fields and finding ways to better connect schools, practice, companies and the professional public.

The conference offered space to representatives of the state, schools, companies, universities, educational experts and students. The common theme was how to strengthen young people's interest in technology and industry and how to show them that technical fields have great importance and perspective in today's world. The development of technical education already in primary schools was one of the important themes of the event.

Our project Technical Basic School was presented at the conference as one of the concrete examples of practical support for technical education. Jiří Thám, Deputy Director, gave a presentation on the Technical Basic School project. He shows that it is possible to develop pupils' interest in technology primarily through practical activities, personal experience and direct contact with modern equipment.

„We were invited here as one of the examples of practical support of technical education together with CTU, other secondary schools and non-profit organizations. Our project was met with praise and support. According to the conference participants, we are an inspiring example.“ mentions Jiří Thám

The conference was a valuable experience for us and an opportunity to show where the Technical Basic School project has moved. It confirmed to us that it makes sense to introduce students to technology in a practical way - through their own work, testing and discovery. This is what we want to continue to do.
