Lectures Czech Republic and European Union for 4.SA and 4.SB

On Friday 19 January 2024 and on Monday 22 January 2024, lectures entitled Czech Republic and the European Union were held for classes 4.SA and 4.SB by PhDr. Kateřina Marková, regional coordinator of information activities about the European Union from Eurocenter České Budějovice. The events were held within the framework of the ZSV subject.

This was the second lecture for the classes this school year. PhDr. Kateřina Marková briefly reiterated the origins of European integration, mentioned the treaties from the 1950s and later agreements. She also remembered that the elections to the European Parliament will take place on 7 and 8 June 2024 and not only all fourth-graders (i.e. citizens of the Czech Republic over 18 years of age) can take part in them.

Next, the lecturer focused on the topic of the Czech Republic in the EU, i.e. its beginnings and further years, as well as the criteria for EU membership and the presentation of public opinion charts, etc. She then highlighted the possibility of youth exchange and the eurodesk.cz website, the European Solidarity Corps and many other organisations and projects that can offer students interesting opportunities when travelling abroad.
