Due to the capacity of the lecture hall, the lecture was attended by students of 3.EB, 4.EA and 4.EB and students of two grammar schools in České Budějovice - Gymnasium J. V. Jirsík and Gymnasium Česká. In the first part of the lecture, the pupils learned a lot of information about the development of electricity in the world and the Czech Republic, about the decline of electricity production from fossil sources and the transition to emission-free energy. It was explained that the spectrum of electricity production in renewable and emission-free sources will not do without nuclear power plants to meet today's and future needs of industry, services, transport and households. The technology of small modular reactors has some advantages over large nuclear units and could suitably - even at a local level - complement the generation mix in the Czech Republic.
The lecture was conducted in a very interactive way and students could discuss with the lecturer.
