Polytechnic Day for pupils at Hluboká nad Vltavou Primary School

Three stations were set up for the pupils, where they could try their hand at various aspects of technical education. At the first station, they learnt about the Mohs scale of mineral hardness, identified selected stones and also had a go at polishing agate.

The next part of the programme was devoted to electrical engineering. The pupils worked with electrical circuits, assembled the Voltík kit, investigated whether electricity could be generated from an apple, and observed how a magnet could be used to spin a coil. There were also interesting facts about the history of electricity and examples of simple experiments, which helped them to better visualise the principles they usually learn about at school.

The third station focused on information technology. Here, the pupils used their own creativity to make a short video. Our students also took part in this section, showing the younger pupils what they had learnt during their studies at SPŠ SE and helping them with the technical aspects and the final presentation of their work.

The visit also included a tour of the school’s workshops and specialist facilities. This gave the pupils the opportunity to see classrooms equipped with modern technology, such as CNC machines and 3D printers.
