On February 27, 2024, we boarded the bus in front of the school at 18:00. The journey to Geneva took 14 hours and we made several stops during the journey. We went through Austria and Germany. We got there about an hour before the car show opened, so we watched the planes at the nearby airport in the meantime. The show was very nice, but smaller than we expected. Departure was scheduled for 5pm and we had seen everything by 1:30pm. So in between we went into town. After seeing Geneva, we drove to Lausanne where we toured the city center and stayed overnight at a local hotel.
The next day, after breakfast in the early morning hours, we went to the museum in Lucerne, which was huge and with lots of interactive exhibits and objects related to our field (engineering). After the museum tour, we moved on to the city itself, where we saw many historical buildings, such as the wooden Chapel Bridge or the famous lion statue carved into the rock in honor of the Swiss Guard of Louis XVI. After parting ways, we re-boarded the bus around 8pm and headed back home.
Thanks to this excursion we could get to know another country, its culture, we visited exhibitions related to engineering and last but not least we practiced our English. The trip was really successful!
