Choosing a secondary school is an important decision for Year 9 pupils, one that often influences their future career path. Parents, teachers and, above all, educational and careers advisers therefore play a significant role in helping pupils to understand their abilities, opportunities and aspirations for the future.
That is why we have organised a specialist training course How to choose a secondary school, which will offer experts’ insights into pupils’ decision-making processes and their future career paths. The aim is not to promote a specific secondary school, but to explore topics that educational and careers advisers routinely encounter in their work.
At the meeting Mgr. Andrea Hadrava Anderlová will be speaking. It will focus on shaping pupils’ career paths, the development of their self-concept, the role of the family in decision-making, and the possibilities offered by counselling and assessment.
A second perspective will offer Josef Kaňkovský, MA, Strategic Recruitment Specialist and Manager for Training and Development at the ČEZ Group, which will examine the topic of education from the perspective of future employers. Participants will thus have the opportunity to consider the choice of further education not only from the perspective of the pupil, their family and the school, but also from the point of view of the needs of the workplace.
The training session will take place:
- 19 October 2026, from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm, in the lecture theatre at SPŠSE, Dukelská 13, České Budějovice.
- Attendance is free.
- The training is being held in collaboration with ČEZ, a. s.
- Upon completion of the training course, participants will be issued with a certificate of attendance.
