On Monday, April 13, 2026, the class 1.S took part in a professional excursion in the engineering company Jihotech, which is located in the village of Homole near České Budějovice. The company, founded in 2003, has gradually developed to a high level especially in the field of sheet metal processing and today it is one of the internationally recognized companies in its field.
During the excursion, the students got acquainted with the technical preparation of production and modern technologies of material cutting on laser and plasma CNC machines. The CNC bending presses in particular aroused great interest, on which they could observe the precise shaping of metal sheets.

The next part of the excursion led to the locksmith workshops, where students admired the quality of the welds. Then they visited the surface treatment and assembly workplace, which represents the final stage of the production process.
All the time they had the opportunity to observe the work of quality control, which uses modern methods and technologies to verify the accuracy and quality of products.
At the end of the excursion, the students thanked the guide, who is also the owner of the company, with applause. In return, he offered them the possibility of future cooperation in the form of a professional practice or a summer job.
The excursion was beneficial for the students and offered them a valuable insight into the real functioning of engineering production.

The programme began with an introductory meeting with the owner of the company, who explained to the students how their studies at the secondary industrial school prepare them for future employment and possible continuation at university. This was followed by a tour of the offices where students learned about the software tools used and the product design process.

The second part of the excursion took place in the production area. Students saw CNC machines, such as a laser cutter and a three-axis milling machine, and got an idea of the individual production processes. The programme also included a demonstration of welding work and quality control methods, including weld inspection.

At the end, the company presented the students with opportunities to complete a compulsory internship and a voluntary part-time job. The excursion offered not only a glimpse into the real operation of a technical company, but also specific opportunities for further professional development of students.
