Pupils were introduced to the whole concept of the South Bohemian rescue system. The programme included, among others, the following points: the importance of the application RESCUE, first aid - explanation, demonstration, the opportunity to try resuscitation on a dummy, a tour of the ambulance - demonstration of equipment, test of instruments and aids. There was also a visit to the alcohol rescue station.
Overall, the students learned many interesting things - e.g. the number of ambulances in Č. Budejovice, what type of ambulance goes to what case, how the phone numbers 155 and 122 differ, how many ambulance calls there are per day, where the heliport is. There were also practical tests such as ECG measurement, heart massage, pulse measurement. The pupils also got information about the baby box. The students' reaction to the whole excursion was very positive. Only the visit to the alcohol detention centre was not very popular, although the students were very interested in it (they had many questions).
Awareness of first aid in general, including with regard to the consequences of alcohol and drug consumption, should be disseminated. This is especially important in the current period of proms, so we are very glad that the staff of the ZZS JčK allowed us such an excursion at their workplace.
