Part of the study of the subject of electrical engineering at our school is to acquire knowledge about electrical substations. The company Pražská energetika, a. s., owns and operates a training polygon, which is used by all distribution companies to train their employees to work on various types of distribution equipment. On May 6, 2024, we went here with the 3.EB class. The students were able to see equipment that is not allowed to be accessed in real operation for safety reasons.
The excursion was carried out with the support of VOLTCOM, spol. s r. o., which deals with the construction, installation and design of power distribution equipment. The excursion also included a lecture on the design of these facilities. Overall, the programme aroused great interest among the pupils and contributed to gaining concrete ideas about distribution equipment and also about the possibilities of future employment in the field of electricity.
