Excursion to Passau, Germany (23 November 2023)

On 23 November 2023, the 2.EM class went on a field trip to the German city of Passau, specifically to the local transport company and the city power plant.

First we took the international train to Linz and then the high-speed train to Passau. This journey not only offered amazing views of the countryside, but also gave the students of electromobility and alternative propulsion the opportunity to experience efficient and modern public transport in practice.

Upon our arrival in Passau, we had a varied program waiting for us. First, we visited the local transport company and got acquainted with the operation of its electric buses and modern transport technologies. The director of the company pleasantly surprised us by offering us free refreshments in the form of traditional Bavarian sausage, mustard, pretzels and lemonade. This was followed by an excursion to a special gas-fired power plant, where the students were given an insight into the workings of alternative energy sources.

We ended the evening with a tour of the city in a modern electric bus, which was not only fun but also inspiring for the students. They had the opportunity to see transport from a different perspective and appreciate the importance of sustainable mobility for the future. Despite the busy schedule, we also managed to enjoy a tour of the city centre, where we admired the historical architecture and the atmosphere of the ancient streets.

We believe that the new knowledge and experience that the students have gained from this trip will help them to better understand the technological challenges of today and prepare them for a successful career in electromobility, engineering or electrical engineering.
