On May 5, 2026 our class 1.S and class 1.EM visited Motor Jikov. Here we divided into two groups. One went straight to see the production and the other one was waiting for a lecture about the history of the company and its activities.

In production we saw how the whole process works. First they showed us the warehouse where they store all the material. They explained to us how they have to label it so that unsuitable material is not used. Then we saw the big furnaces in which the aluminium is heated. The heated aluminium, at a temperature of around 720 °C, is cast into moulds and then the required component is cast. This then goes through various checks and surface treatments.

In the second part of the excursion, we sat down in the meeting room. Here we were treated to a presentation that covered almost everything - from the company's beginnings to its current position on the market. We also learned about the various companies that Motor Jikov cooperates with, as well as where and how much of its products are exported.

The whole excursion was very interesting. It was impressive to see such large foundry machines with your own eyes. The gentlemen who guided us through the production were very nice and tried to answer every question. The lady who introduced us to the history explained everything that was going on around the company. We enjoyed the excursion and thank you for making it possible.
