Excursion to Voltcom, spol. s r. o. (25 May 2023)

On 25 May 2023, some of the pupils of 2.EA and 2.EB (those who will study electricity in the school year 2023/2024) took part in an excursion to an encapsulated 110 kV substation in Prague. The excursion was organized by Voltcom, spol. s r.o., which also provided transport. The company Voltcom, spol. s r. o., belongs to the group of companies Pražská energetika, a. s. (PRE, a. s.).

The programme included a visit to the modern encapsulated 110 kV substation of PRE, a. s., in Prague in Holešovice, a tour of the energy museum in the same building and a lecture in the PRE building in Vršovice. Pupils had the opportunity to compare a modern 110 kV encapsulated substation with an older "museum" encapsulated substation and to see a collection of electrical equipment used from the beginning to the end of the 20th century. The programme in the PRE building in Vršovice started with lunch provided by Pražská energetika and continued with a lecture on power grid design and the superior working conditions in the field of electricity.
