Upon arrival, we were met by two female guides. First we visited the press shop with an automatic line, where we got acquainted with the workflow in this part of the production. We were also introduced to the presses and their moulds (a press mould can weigh up to 50 tonnes). The second stop was the vehicle assembly plant, where we could see how a car is installed from the body to the wedding, i.e. connecting the body with the chassis. We also had the opportunity to observe the assembly of the interior of the vehicle (dashboard etc) and to see the disconnection of the doors from the rest of the body.
The company's employees were very pleasantly surprised by the knowledge of our pupils (about car manufacturing, but also about ŠKODA AUTO itself).
The last item on the programme was the ŠKODA Museum. Here you can see, for example, the rally car won by Swedes Pontus Tidemand and Jonas Andersson, as well as various old vehicles. Visitors can observe the development of the vehicles themselves and their engines on the examples. At the end, some of the pupils tried a ride on a virtual reality track.
