The excursion started at 7:30 in front of the school and then we took the train to Prague. Upon arrival at the museum we were greeted by a guide who took us through the various exhibitions and gave us an interesting explanation of the exhibits. First, we were introduced to the exhibition dedicated to the First World War, where we saw uniforms, weapons and other equipment from this period and learned about important battles and military strategies. This was followed by a section on the Second World War, which was very impressive. We saw period documents, maps, photographs and various objects illustrating the life of soldiers and civilians during the war. However, we agreed that we were most impressed by the third exhibition, which presented the Hussite Wars in a graphic and engaging way.
After visiting the museum, we climbed the Vítkov hill, from where we had a beautiful view of Prague. We finished the trip with a tasty lunch and headed back to České Budějovice.
