It is an important excursion for our students because they can learn about the latest technical solutions in the field of chip machining, cutting, welding, forming, hydraulics, pneumatics, measuring, but also 3D printing, electronics, handling technology, packaging materials, storage and much more.
The Brno Exhibition Centre is quite large and almost all halls were filled with the exhibition. In Hall P there was, among others, the Heidenhain exhibition. At their stand, apart from the exhibited products, there were installed training programming workstations used for the competition of young programmers in the Heidenhain dialogue.
Martin Jan and David Svoboda from 4.SB took part in the competition for our school. The task was quite demanding, but thanks to good preparation the contestants succeeded.
The main task was to build a CNC program in the Heidenhain system according to the production drawing and the attached technological process specification. They had 90 min time for the task. The main winner received a special prize and an invitation to Heidenhain's headquarters, where he can test the program and produce the part.
Student Martin Jan took 2nd place in a great competition. Congratulations.
In addition to the above-mentioned competing students, the excursion was also attended by students from classes 2.SA, 2.SB and 3.SA. During the day they saw with great interest the expositions of engineering companies from all over the world. The students gained a lot of knowledge and took away not only promotional materials but also small promotional items.
The visit to the renowned fair was a success, it left a deep impression on the students, it is a pity that it was affected by the economic crisis. In fact, the vast majority of exhibitors limited their demonstration of machine functions to videos and visualisations.
