The energy future of humanity

On Monday, 14 September 2020, our school again hosted a lecture on energy, which was organized by the agency Hejl Servis, s.r.o., Prague under the patronage of ČEZ.

The lecture, which included interesting experiments with radioactivity, was led by Mr Tomáš Hejl and Ing. Marek Sviták, spokesman of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant.

Over the course of two classes, students gained a global perspective on energy in today's world. They were introduced to all types of energy mix sources, their advantages and disadvantages, and other environmental and political implications of energy.

Another part of the lecture was devoted to the safety of power plants. It was also interesting to compare the consequences of nuclear power plant accidents.

The students were provided with links to other interesting websites and information about the possibility to participate in the photo contest.
