On 16.11. the amazing students of 4.EA participated in the national final of the Energy Olympiad at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Czech Technical University, where they took a great 3rd place.
The school round was attended by almost 300 trios, our school was represented by two teams, one of which, consisting of students Beranek, Peka and Procházka, placed 21st and thus won participation in the finals. The other team, despite not reaching the finals, did not disgrace the school and placed in the first half.
The finals were held in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering building and consisted of two parts: in the first half of the day, students were presented with expert lectures on the topic of the competition (energy and energy literacy) by leaders in the field; in the second half, the contestants moved to the National Technical Library and created a presentation on their chosen topic. There was a wide range of sectors to choose from, from electromobility to smart homes. The emphasis was on original ideas, organisation of information and the actual presentation of the work.
As one of the participants, I would like to add my personal opinion at the end. Although the information gained during the lectures and our own work is undoubtedly important, I think that the main benefit for us is the experience in teamwork, time management and presentation in front of an audience and jury, which we will certainly use in our future studies and work, as well as in our personal life.
