Dukla helps: the Czech Day Against Cancer - another fundraiser behind us

On Wednesday, 13 May 2026, a total of 16 volunteers in yellow T-shirts from classes 2.EE, 2.EM, 2.ER and 2.S took to the streets of České Budějovice to sell flowers in support of cancer prevention. And how did they do? As always - great!

Our school participated in the Czech Day Against Cancer, a nationwide public collection organized by the League Against Cancer Prague, for the fifth time. This time the students raised an amazing 33 556 CZK by selling yellow flowers, which will go to support cancer prevention, cancer treatment and cancer research. The theme of this year's collection was head and neck cancer.

The students had a total of 1100 flowers, of which 1050 were sold. The minimum price of one flower was 20 CZK and as in previous years there was a great interest in buying flowers in the streets of České Budějovice. It is necessary to add that every year our students sell more flowers and earn more and more money for their sale. We are very grateful not only to our volunteers, but especially to those who contributed and bought flowers from our students.

We are glad that we can contribute to a good cause within our Dukla Helps project. So let us recapitulate a little, considering our involvement in the past years:

  • 2022 - 600 flowers, 20 394 CZK
  • 2023 - 800 flowers, 23 033 CZK
  • 2024 - 890 flowers, 27 398 CZK
  • 2025 - 998 flowers, 28 449 CZK
  • 2026 - 1050 flowers, 33 556 CZK

Total for 5 years: 132 830 CZK.
