Bavarian-Czech working group for career orientation in crafts - participation of Mgr. Ivan Lavička (24 January 2024)

On 24 January 2024, the Bavarian-Czech Working Group on Career Orientation in the Crafts took place in Deggendorf (Germany). The meeting was attended by representatives of the South Bohemian and Bavarian Chambers of Commerce, representatives of secondary schools, grammar schools and apprenticeship schools of both countries. On behalf of the Czech side represented the secondary schools Mgr. Ivan Lavička.

The first item on the agenda was a lecture on streamlining the recruitment of new students to apprenticeships and secondary vocational schools. The speaker was Dr. Andrea Greilinger from the Ludwig-Fröhler-Institut (Munich). The lecture ended with a one-hour discussion of the participants, proposals, possibilities, measures in relation to the education systems of the individual countries were presented.

The next point of the group was the presentation of the INTERREG project. European Territorial Cooperation is one of the objectives under the EU structural assistance, which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). INTERREG is divided into three areas of cooperation: cross-border, transnational and interregional. In the grant period from 2021 to 2027, the EU will provide a total of €8.9 billion for these programmes, of which €6.6 billion will go to cross-border cooperation programmes. This was followed by a discussion on the topic, where the ongoing project "Heroes of the Craft" led by the South Bohemian Chamber of Commerce with the support of the Bavarian Chamber of Commerce.

The last point of the group was a tour of the HANDWERKSKAMMER Bavaria apprenticeship training centre for the Deggendorf area.

The whole working group was held in a friendly spirit, new contacts were established and broader cross-border cooperation developed.
