13 and 14 April 2023: Playing against HIV/AIDS - Prevention event for 1st graders

On 13th and 14th April, classes 1.S, 1.ER and 1.EE participated in the project "Playing for HIV/AIDS", which took place in the Regional Hygiene Station in České Budějovice. The classes were introduced to the elements of HIV/AIDS prevention in the form of a game. The interactive game also focused on the prevention of unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections.

Students divided into five groups went around the stations, at each station the moderators evaluated their performance according to their knowledge, attitudes and activity. After 90 minutes the pupils reached the finish line and the best team was evaluated. The pupils evaluated the event very positively, it was a very fun form of learning with a lot of new information.

Petr Kučera, 1.EE: "In the afternoon of 14 April we visited the Regional Hygiene Station in České Budějovice. There we were informed about ways to protect ourselves and prevent the risk of contracting HIV/AIDS. Most of the information was new to us and we had no idea about it before, but now we know how to behave and what to do if we suspect the possibility of infection. There were 5 stations waiting for us. In the first one we were informed about the ways of protection, in the second one we were told about the transmission of the virus and the possibilities of infection. In the third we were asked questions, plus we saw how to put on a condom correctly, which we all tried on afterwards. In the fourth, we made up a character who was infected with the virus and observed how mentally challenging it must be for that person. In the fifth and final station we used pantomime to act out situations or things that we drew, this was very comical and we laughed a lot. At the end a group photo followed and we were given presents. I personally rate the excursion as very purposeful and fun at the same time."
