Playing against AIDS is an interactive primary prevention project that gives young people the opportunity to learn basic information not only about HIV and AIDS, but also about protection against unwanted pregnancy and various sexually transmitted infections. The game is moderated by KHS staff together with students from the SZŠ and VŠ Health České Budějovice. The pupils are divided into small groups and go around the various stations where they learn about situations related to the protection and prevention of HIV and AIDS in an attractive form of a game. At the stations they have the opportunity to express their attitudes and opinions and to think about possible risk situations.
According to one of the accompanying class teachers, Mgr. Radek Mach, the program was very sensitively and interestingly designed. The pupils were disciplined and completed the whole programme with great interest. Mgr. Petra Bydžovská also enjoyed the event with her class. However, not only the teachers, but especially the students themselves, who had the opportunity to fill in a short feedback form, evaluated the whole programme very positively. 90 % of the respondents evaluated the event as very useful or useful, 10 % as quite useful. 96 % of the respondents felt that they had learned some or many new and interesting things. Only 4 % respondents according to their answer knew everything before the prevention activity.
We are very happy that we can regularly participate in this preventive action with our pupils - we are very grateful to the KHS staff for this opportunity.
