SPŠ SE co-organized the conference "A word about electromobility..."

On Thursday 5 June 2025, the third "A word about electromobility..." conference took place in the auditorium of our school SPŠ SE, bringing together top experts with enthusiastic students and showing where the automotive industry is heading.

The event was organised by E.ON Drive Infrastructure together with our school and the atmosphere was really electric.

From 9:30, the school auditorium was filled with participants eager to learn about a phenomenon that has been changing the world of transportation in recent years. At 10:00 a.m., they welcomed everyone Martin Klima from E.ON Drive Infrastructure and the school principal Jaroslav Koreswho outlined a rich programme.

Leading Czech experts presented their contributions and shared their visions and data:

  • Lukas Kadula from the Centre for Transport Research described in detail the current state of electromobility in the Czech Republiclaying the groundwork for further discussions.
  • Pavel Lux from the Department of Transportation took on hot topics such as the direction of electromobility in the political context. Will the ban on the sale of internal combustion engines be lifted? Will hydrogen be the future?
  • Great discussion with the participation of Martin Klíma (E.ON), Pavel Lux (MD), Lukáš Kadula (CDV)Peter Benes (Teplárny Brno) focused on new developments in charging infrastructure and changes in customer behaviour. The arrival of Chinese vehicles and the competitiveness of the European automotive industry were also openly discussed.
  • The discussion block devoted to freight and bus transportwhere Jakub Kott (E.ON Energie) He explained the challenges and opportunities of electrification of truck and bus transport and gave concrete examples.
  • The final panel debate between Jaroslav KoreshFrantišek Pánek (Robert Bosch ČB) focused on the essential linking education and practice in the field of electromobilityhighlighting the need to prepare young talent for the changing labour market.

After a morning of information and discussions, the conference came to a close - presentation of student projects. Pupils in the field Electromobility from our Secondary School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering have shown that the future of electromobility is in good hands. With enthusiasm and expertise, they presented their year-long work and models, combining knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering:

  • Independently designed and subsequently printed balloon-powered car modelswhich were not just toys, but functional prototypes, were demonstrated by pupils of the 1st year.
  • Intersection model simulating traffic control was demonstrated by a 2nd year student.
  • A bike measuring the work done when pedalling, which demonstrated the physical principles of energy conversion, was presented by a pair of pupils of the 3rd year.

These projects not only impressed the experts present, but also illustrated the importance of practical teaching and linking theory with real-world applications. The students confirmed that they are ready to play an active role in shaping a greener future for transport.

The third edition of "A word about electromobility..." confirmed that České Budějovice is an important centre for the discussion of trends in electromobility and can prepare the new generation for the challenges of modern transport.
