Each competition team is composed of elementary school students and high school students. Each team has a sponsor under whose name it participates in the competition. For our school, SPŠ SE, Lukáš Zdychynec, Jerguš Tóth and Matěj Johanus, all from the 2nd ER, were nominated for the team. This team, in cooperation with our sponsor, EGE, and the Dukelská Primary School, prepared and implemented a model of the race track in accordance with the competition brief.
Entry to the start of the race track was controlled by IP camera and only our vehicle was allowed. Our team built a model of the racetrack including a spinning Ferris wheel that lit up and changed the color of the lights installed on it according to a random program. Everyone was also entertained by the grandstand with spectators creating Mexican waves. Our starting gate was equipped with a very accurate timer and lap counter. All the information was displayed by several different displays. Everything worked in automatic mode according to an embedded program designed and created by the students. Our car, whose body was modelled and produced by the students using 3D printing, easily coped with the challenging race track thanks to the program, which was fine-tuned on the spot according to the unknown track parameters, and was the fastest in all.
Thanks to the design, its implementation, and especially the great commitment of all students who did not hesitate to sacrifice dozens of hours of their free time, we won the regional round. Our team won the regional competition in this tenth anniversary year for the fourth time in a row.
The whole team is looking forward to the national round in Prague. Everyone knows that it will be very difficult, so right after Easter we will start preparing to represent our school and our South Bohemia region well.
