Competition - Merkur perfekt challenge - success of our students

On November 14, 2024, the traditional competition (already the eleventh year) "Merkur perfekt challenge" took place again at Brno University of Technology, which takes place on a national scale and is usually attended by about 50 teams of three to four people in eight categories. The name Merkur is used because the mechanical part of the challenge is built from this kit, with the electronics provided by the Arduino platform.

One team of three from our school participated in this year's competition and chose the task "Automated waste sorting machine". The competition took place in the laboratories of Brno University of Technology, was held in the spirit of fair play and as every year was perfectly prepared.

As usual, the atmosphere was tense, as it is not an easy task to complete the assignment within the given time limit. The result of our students' efforts was winning the category. Winning the first place gives you the opportunity to start your studies at the BUT without taking the entrance exam. The winning teams from each category will take part in the superfinals, where they will perform a previously unknown task.

Our participation in the superfinal is obvious because we brought the first place in our category. Lukáš Pavlík, Jiří Siegelbauer and Vojtěch Šišpela represented our school.
