Encounters with energy

With regard to the content, we have included the programme in the teaching of the first year students of Electrical Power Engineering and Electrical Machines and Robotics and Control Engineering. These disciplines are close to the topic of power engineering and it is useful for students to get clear and comprehensive information in the field of electrical power engineering. The program was thematically well structured and effectively combined presentation with demonstrations, which helped to keep the students' attention throughout the event.

A pleasant surprise was the lively discussion and the correct answers of the students to the competition questions. This interest of the students in the topic shows how important and topical energy education is. As we even exceeded the allotted time, it is clear that the programme was interesting and beneficial for the students.

We would also like to stress the educational character of the programme, which showed the young generation the possibilities of using different sources of electricity and clearly mapped out what is feasible and what is not. The inclusion of a virtual tour of nuclear power plants proved to be very useful, as pupils are interested in new technologies.

Based on the feedback from the students, we can say that the programme met their expectations and they would like to participate in other similar events. We thank the organizers for the preparation and presentation of the program and hope that it can be held again in the next school year.
