The company GPN is engaged in mechanical production of tools, machines and structural elements for the field of extrusion of plastics. More than 30 years of experience and one of the largest production capacities on the market make GPN unique in its field. GPN is a production network with more than 300 employees and locations in Austria and the Czech Republic.
Due to the original nature of the production, the company requires unique employees who are recruited from vocational high school and university students with a focus on mechanical and electrical engineering. When recruiting new employees, the company is faced with a significant gap in the knowledge of prospective employees from vocational school students and the knowledge needed to enter the job market in modern, high-tech plants such as GPN. For this reason, this event was planned through the South Bohemian Chamber of Commerce, where the various issues were consulted among the stakeholders. The event was attended by the head of the workshops Mgr. Ivan Lavička.
The second part of the event was a guided tour of the company's own production plant.
In the final summary, it was agreed that companies must provide schools with some of their know-how, modern drawings, technological procedures of production, so that vocational teachers can modernize their knowledge and transfer it to students.
The event partly took the cooperation between schools and future employers to the next level.
