The year-long theses are prepared by students of all disciplines in the 2nd year and also by students of the 3rd year in the electrical field. Students of mechanical engineering in the 3rd year design and construct a two-stage gearbox with spur gears.
Students choose their topics from a range of vocational subjects, computer science, physics or professional practice until the end of November. Self-initiative is also welcome - many students come up with original proposals that often surprise with their creativity.
The expert teachers then evaluate the works and select the best ones, which are then presented before an expert committee composed of representatives of companies and school management. Students present their work in thematically divided groups according to their field of study. The experts are actively involved during the presentations - asking questions, examining the students' knowledge and discussing the solutions.
At the end of each presentation, a panel of experts, including the school principal, evaluates the projects and ranks them according to the impression the students have made on them - whether through their expertise, imagination or presentation.
