Ing. Pavel Ševčík, head of the sales centre, introduced students from classes 2.ER, 3.S and 4.S, first introduced them to BAS, its history and business focus, and gave an overview of the basic groups of spectrometers sold and their use not only in mechanical and electrical engineering, but also in customs control, commodity science, jewellery, etc. He focused specifically on the VANTA V2CR spectrometer and also demonstrated it on samples of various materials.
After questions from teachers and pupils, students were able to have the composition of their own samples (necklaces, rings, earrings, mobile phone covers, screwdrivers) verified. The measurements were carried out very quickly with very accurate results.
The mobility of the model on display would be another advantage if it were purchased as a teaching aid for both mechanical engineers and electrical engineering students.
