New extension to the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering: modern facilities for teaching IT and vocational subjects 

Within the IROP - Project "Expansion of teaching capacities"; Co-financed by the European Union Programme: the Integrated Regional Operational Programme; Project registration number: CZ.06.04.01/00/22_043/0002000; Purpose of the subsidy: Improvement of educational infrastructure in the field of basic education and increase of its accessibility - it was It was decided to demolish the old extension because its construction would not be able to cope with the planned further extension with new classrooms. In the summer months of 2023 the old extension was demolished.  

During the 2023-2024 school year, with the school fully operational, we have watched the gradual implementation of a new modern facility that brings a whole new set of facilities to the school. The new extension contains a total of six specialist classrooms for the disciplines of engineering, robotics and electrical engineering, which are split over three floors, with two classrooms and one office on each floor. This space will allow for expanded teaching of vocational subjects and IT technology, which is crucial for the school given the rapid development of these fields. At the same time, the extension at schoolyard level contains a garage and workshop and storage space for the Electromobility course. 

One of the significant improvements of the new extension is the lift, which provides barrier-free access to almost all floors of the building. 

The retrofitting of the annex will be carried out continuously during the school year 2024-2025 with significant financial support from our founder, the South Bohemian Region, and our partner company ČEZ, a.s.
