Visit to the planetarium

On March 8, 2019 we went on a field trip to the planetarium in České Budějovice.

We were ushered into a projection room where the universe was projected. At the beginning of the projection, we were shown how people used to mistakenly think that planet Earth was flat or that it was the centre of the universe. Later we were taken back to the time when Galileo Galilei was alive and began to improve his telescope and observe the distant universe. We then moved on to the time when the Hubble Telescope was launched into Earth orbit and were shown some of the images it took. We then went on a distant journey into deep space. First we saw the Earth, then the Sun, the Solar System, stars, nebulae, the Milky Way, and finally whole galaxies. And we began to realize how big the universe is. We enjoyed the whole excursion very much and took away a lot of interesting knowledge.
