In this competition, the twelve best regional teams, supplemented by one team from Poland, competed not only for interesting prizes, but mainly for the best representation of their team, their school, their partner company and their region. As in the regional round, the competing teams were made up of primary school pupils and secondary school students led by a captain from the partner company. The individual teams then had to compile a task according to a precise technical documentation, which this year had over 80 sheets, within a time limit of 2.5 hours, according to the assignment of a committee consisting of experts from CTU, professional companies and the Chamber of Commerce. Every detail, literally every screw, was assessed in the final evaluation. All it took was for a screw to be put in the opposite way to the way it was drawn in the documentation and the team was penalised.
Marek Buřič, Lukáš Pavlík and Vojtěch Šišpela were nominated for our school and Lukáš Brunclík and Jiří Siegelbauer (all from class 2.ER) were substitutes. Our team, under the leadership of the captain from EGE, spol. s r.o., prepared and realized a model of the race track and race car in accordance with the competition brief. At the end, each team had to drive their car around the entire prepared track in the shortest possible time. It was not easy, many teams had various accidents, but our team managed everything without hesitation and in excellent time.
Thanks to the great commitment of all students who did not hesitate to sacrifice dozens of hours of their free time in preparation for the national finals, we took 2nd place overall and thus defended the result from last year.
Congratulations to all participants and thank you for representing our school!
