The tournament itself, which took place the following day, started with an 11:3 win over the VŠ and SPŠ Rychnov nad Kněžnou. Then followed a duel with the home team (T. G. Masaryk Business Academy), which was balanced for a long time, but in the end we lost 6:10. In the semi-final we faced the winners of the second group - the Prague Gymnasium Postupnická. This team was beyond our strength, we lost the match 15:0. The fact that we played 3 matches in a row, i.e. 3 hours in a row, may have played a role. Our boys lacked the necessary concentration.
The last match was the fight for the 3rd place, in which we faced a familiar opponent - OA T. G. Masaryk. Therefore, we tried to learn from previous mistakes. The scores 0:2, 2:2 and 2:5 were finally reversed and we won 13:5. The team was very happy to win the bronze medal.
A total of 17 teams took part in the event (including qualifiers). The second place was taken by Gymnázium Chomutov and the golden place was taken by Gymnázium Postupnická. The journey home seemed faster and shorter, we arrived around 23:00.
Congratulations to our team (consisting of Tomáš Kučera, Petr Winzig, David Pokorný, Hubert Havel, Jakub Čermák, Richard Kadlec, Jan Reiský and Tomáš Paštika from class 1.EA, Václav Schneider and Filip Kordina from class 1.SA, Jan Šíma from 2.SA and Jakub Kočárek from 2.EA) for the beautiful 3rd place and thank you for the exemplary representation of our school!
