School round: On Wednesday 15 January 2025, as every year, the school round of the AJ conversation competition for secondary schools took place in our school. This time 13 students took part in it, demonstrating their knowledge, skills and ability to express themselves in English.
The competition consisted of 3 parts - in the first part, each student presented themselves in a fun little way (like a favourite food), in the second part, everyone performed a monologue on a chosen topic and finally in the third part, the students worked together in a group activity. It was very difficult to decide, but in the end the committee (AJ teachers) chose the following order: the winners were Viktor Keist from 2nd EM (he also won last year) and Jan Prim from 3rd S. Third place went to David Janostak from 2nd ER (as an alternate for the district round).
Both winning students will advance and represent our school in the district round organized by DDM České Budějovice. Thanks to all participants for their participation, but above all for the amazing performances they showed and the rich and interesting discussion.
District round: After more than a month, the district round of the English Language Olympiad took place on Friday 21 February 2025 at the House of Children and Youth in České Budějovice. Our two winners of the school round took part in it and they certainly did not lose their way. Jan Prim (3.S) took the 13th place in the competition of representatives of schools from the České Budějovice region. Even better was Viktor Keist (2.EM), who won 5th place. Thanks to both participants for successful representation of our school.
