We visited the event because of the expansion of the portfolio of electric vehicles intended for teaching the promising study field of electromobility and alternative drives.
The five pillars of Ford Motor Company's electromobility were presented. The strategy in the light commercial vehicle segment is based on 100 % vehicles in service and 0 % vehicles in service. If a vehicle is in service, it does not generate profit. This is why Ford is striving to produce trouble-free e-vehicles, which it is currently doing well and is one of the market leaders in Europe.
The most interest was aroused by the presentation of the Ford E-Transit Van with the following parameters: power 269 hp/430 Nm, range with full battery 309 km, maximum speed 130 km/h, charging power DC 115 kW and payload 1684 kg. Invited guests had the opportunity to test the declared parameters of the vehicle themselves on a pre-prepared route of about 20 minutes with the cargo inside the vehicle. Another bonus was a ride in the top-of-the-range 4WD model from Ford Performance, the Ford Ranger Raptor, which is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.0 V6 EcoBoost petrol engine. During a test drive off-road in Baja driving mode, the new Ranger Raptor's setup immediately adapted to the demands of the ride.
The event went well, close contact was established with the management of the local Ford dealership in České Budějovice and cooperation with the Ford Prague Letňany training centre was also advanced.
