Excursion EGÚ Praha Engineering a.s.

On 20 November 2019, students of the 4th year with a focus on power electrical engineering took part in an excursion to the company EGÚ Praha Engineering a.s. in Běchovice, which focuses on research in the field of power engineering.

In the introductory lecture, we learned about the history of the electricity network, the development of the power industry and at the same time the bushing and insulator were described, for which a mechanical tensile strength test was carried out, where the stress value reached 30.8 kN, which was much higher than the value given by the manufacturer. We then moved on to a room where various high voltage tests are carried out - for example the high voltage effects of a Tesla transformer together with a Faraday cage.
