The main destination of our trip was the private gallery of modern art DOX. First, we saw a huge airship on the roof - the Gulliver - by the renowned Czech architect Martin Rajnish.
Afterwards, we attended the program With skin on the market, which the gallery prepared for students for the exhibition of Petr Sís On Flying and Other Dreams. We talked mainly about the time in which Petr Sís grew up in non-free Czechoslovakia. We used knowledge from history and ZSV lessons. We learned many interesting facts and some new information.
In the exhibition rooms we saw illustrations from five books by Petr Sís, which he published in America after his emigration in 1984. Of course, the whole exhibition is also for foreigners, so we practiced our English while looking at the pictures.
The greatest experience for us was the final visit to Saint-Exupery's Starry Sky Cave and the talk about our experience of freedom.
From Holešovice followed a quick transfer to Troja and the FATA MORGANA greenhouse of the Prague Botanical Garden. It's a good thing we are such a physically fit class - we had more time to explore the exotic environment. In one hour we managed - even with expert commentary - to travel around the world. :-) We refreshed some knowledge from botany and biology from primary school and learned a lot of new things.
In the evening we returned to České Budějovice by the Southern Express, very tired but full of new information and experiences.
Photos from the excursion can be found in photo gallery.
