The participants were students who had already participated in events within this project in the past (they were involved in the activities of interest groups, which are funded by the I-KAP project).
Students had the opportunity to see the hall where new cars are handed over to customers. The company itself sells up to a quarter of the cars it produces, up to 2,300 a day. And it's an unusual experience for the customers too, as there are many interesting things in store for them. For example, they get a free tour of the production halls where their new car was built, they can visit the museum, a festive lunch is prepared for them and, in addition to the new car, which is already registered and has the correct number plate, they receive a treat from AUDI (branded wines in a gift pack).
Next, students visited the "showroom", where all types of AUDI cars are on display, including those with hybrid or electric drive, where students could sit and see the whole car in detail.
At 12:30 the tour of the museum began, where the most interesting models produced are exhibited, arranged in historical order. Among the most interesting exhibits were the 1964 NSU Ro 80 car, which was powered by a twin-chamber Wankel engine and had a belt variator (automatic transmission), and the 1939 AUDI car, which was the first to have metallic paint, created by mixing the paint with ground cod fish scales. The whole exhibition was guided by Ing. Petr Kroupa.
Immediately after the tour, PaedDr. Alena Ducháčková took control of the excursion and interpreted information about the production process of the car. The tour lasted over two hours and the visited workplaces were the welding shop, the intermediate inspection station, the assembly line and the information exhibition on the method of painting car bodies.
We believe that students will be able to use the information they gained during the excursion in their further studies in professional subjects.
