The task of the teachers was to get acquainted with the operation and organization of teaching at this school, to visit selected vocational classes, vocational training and selected engineering companies. The week-long stay included a visit to the prestigious Secondary Industrial School of Mechanical Engineering, Fajnorovo nábřeží, Bratislava, which is one of the best in Slovakia.
Skalica
The main point of the event was the town of Skalica. It is currently a district town with approximately 15 thousand inhabitants and is the cultural, sporting and industrial centre of western Slovakia. The largest employer in the district is the Schaeffler company, which manufactures bearing parts and other machine components.
The Secondary Vocational School of Mechanical Engineering in Skalica has about 200 students who study in three three-year courses, three matriculation courses (mechanical engineering, machine tool programmer and mechanical adjuster) and three dual matriculation courses (they have a week of theoretical training and a week of professional practice at Schaeffler). At the same time, the school also organises an extension course for apprentices.
There is a very friendly atmosphere in the school, both between students and each other, between teachers and students and between teachers and school management. The teaching of vocational subjects, especially KPP, is about the same level as at our school. However, they have a different allocation of hours and the number of students in the classes is very small (five to eight just depending on the field of study).

Bratislava
A visit to "Fajnorka" - the Secondary Industrial School of Mechanical Engineering in Bratislava was a great help. The school is ten years older than our school building. It was opened in 1904 and has been teaching engineering since then. The school is one of the most prestigious industrial schools (in Slovakia) and closely cooperates with several universities in Bratislava. In addition to the three fields of study, the school also has a Bilingual Technical Lyceum, where all teaching is in English.
The school management was very interested in our school and is very keen to establish close cooperation with us not only within the Erasmus programme.
The course and content of the lessons is very similar, if not identical, to the teaching of vocational subjects at our school.

Other activities
At the end of the week-long stay, a professional excursion to several engineering companies was arranged. A very interesting excursion was in the engineering company DANEX Slovakia, s. r. o., which produces machined parts of bearings. The managing director and owner Ing. Danihel was very well prepared and guided the Erasmus participants through the whole factory, which is not large, but very well technically equipped.
On the last day, all stakeholders jointly evaluated the whole stay, which was beneficial for both parties, where Ing. Čejka conducted training on the use of Solid Edge in teaching in secondary schools.
We evaluate the event positively, the facilities (such as accommodation, catering and transport) were very well prepared and there was nothing to complain about. The whole event was organized by EduMove, s. r. o., which provides professional mobility and services related to the Erasmus+ programme.
