Czech Day Against Cancer

On 11 May 2022, a total of 16 volunteers in yellow T-shirts from classes 1.EA and 1.EB took to the streets of České Budějovice to sell flowers in support of cancer prevention, cancer treatment and cancer research. With SPŠ SE we joined the national public collection organized by the League Against Cancer Prague.

Each pair had 75 flowers to offer to passers-by during the morning hours, along with information leaflets. The minimum price of one flower was 20 CZK, but donors could also make a higher contribution, which in many cases actually happened. All 600 flowers available to the school were sold in the morning. People were interested in the collection, often even stopping our volunteers themselves. In total, the volunteers collected 20 394 CZKwhich we then sent to the account of the League Against Cancer Prague via the Czech Post.

We are pleased to have been able to support a good cause in this way, and we are very grateful to all the volunteers who took part in the event.

We have received an official thank you for our cooperation and support - a certificate with the amount of money collected by the students of the 1st year of the SPŠ SE during the Czech Day Against Cancer on 11 May 2022. We would like to thank our volunteers once again. We are counting on our involvement in the Czech Day Against Cancer next year as well.
