A TALK WITH A JOURNALIST in 2 EA
The last Czech language lesson before the holidays, the pupils of 2EA had a chat with a journalist.
The invitation was accepted by Mr. Václav Koblenc from the South Bohemian editorial office of the Czech Press Agency.
Mr Koblenc first introduced the pupils to his working day and mentioned his earlier work (he started as a teacher and also wrote for Deník and Mladá fronta).
He then explained the concept of CTK (exclusivity, how the media can pick up their articles, mentioned other international news companies), showed us his working interface, talked about critical thinking, verifying information and journalistic ethics. He often supported his talk with his own experiences and examples from practice.
Finally, there were questions. Students asked, for example, how hard it is to be unbiased, what they write about most often, how to prioritize information and articles, and how to make a living in this job.
And at the end we took a photo together, thanked each other for the talk with applause and arranged further cooperation.
