12.-16.9.2022: Cyclo-course 3.EB and 3.SA

Upon arrival we checked in and after lunch we set off on our first bike tour. We divided into two groups, where the faster and more skilled students rode with Mgr. Bican and Mgr. Požárek longer routes, the others joined Mgr. Petržalová and Mgr. Kováříková and rode shorter routes at a slower pace.

In one week we rode about 90 and 180 km and walked about 50 km. The other time was spent playing sports in netball, volleyball, badminton, but also swimming in the pool.

The destination of the bike tours was Třeboň, Stráž nad Nežárkou, but also Rožmberk pond, Stará Hlína, Rozvodí, Stříbřec and Stříbřecký bridge, Mláka, Šimanov, Pístina. The pupils also always learned something interesting connected with the place we were passing through - where Karel Čurda (the traitor of the paratroopers and assassins of Heydrich) was born, in which fairy tales the white bridge over the Vítek pond appeared, how Jakub Krčín from Jelčany built ponds, in which window of the Třeboň castle did Petr Vok from Rožmberk die, who was Ema Destinn, the function of Rozvodí, etc.

And because it was raining a bit, there were also various common games - in smaller groups we played card games Bang, It's raining and Jokers, as well as dice or questions and answers of the game Czechia. There were also games played in class groups - e.g. about cultural traditions of countries; reciting the alphabet in different ways; I'll tell you what I like; madhouse; scientific proverbs.

The course brought the classes together, some were surprised at how much they had cycled. Some were able to complain, others were able to turn both cheeks to problems. Overall, the course was a success and we had fun despite the poorer food and not always sunny weather.
