1st years at the event Playing against AIDS - 11 and 14 April 2025

In the period of the entrance exams, pupils of our 4 first year classes, as well as freshmen last year and the year before, took part in a preventive action called Playing against AIDS, organized by the Regional Hygiene Station České Budějovice.

Playing against AIDS is an interactive primary prevention project that gives young people the opportunity to learn basic information not only about HIV and AIDS, but also about protection against unwanted pregnancy and various sexually transmitted infections. The pupils are divided into 5 small groups and go around the different stations where they learn about situations related to HIV and AIDS protection and prevention in an attractive game. At the stations they have the opportunity to express their attitudes and opinions and to think about possible risk situations.

According to one of the accompanying class teachers, Mgr. Radek Mach, the most fun for the students was probably the practical demonstration of some contraceptive devices. After the event, the students had the opportunity to fill in a questionnaire in which they could express their opinion on the preventive activity. 96 % of respondents evaluated the event as very useful or useful / quite useful. 95 % of respondents felt that they had learned some or many new and interesting things. Only 5 % respondents, according to their answer, knew everything before the prevention activity. We are very happy to participate in this prevention event with our students.
